Caroleve Thompson-Fonseka
Voice and Choral Adjudicator
Soprano Caroleve Thompson-Fonseka is a graduate of the Royal Conservatory of Music with A.R.C.T. degrees in performance and teaching.
 
As a performer she has sung the lead roles in 12 operas with the Toronto City Opera. These include Marguerite in Gounod’s Faust, Amina in Bellini’s La Sonnambula, Violetta in Verdi’s La Traviata, Mimi in Puccini’s La Bohème, Elvira in Bellini’s I Puritani and the title roles in Puccini’s Madama Butterfly and Donizetti’s Lucia di Lammermoor. She has also been a soloist with Coro Giuseppe Verdi, performing in Dubois’ The Seven Last Words of Christ, Rossini’s Stabat Mater and Violetta in a concert version of  La Traviata.  Other performances include solo recitals, joint recitals with her husband, tenor Nihal Fonseka,  guest soloist appearances with the McMaster and Brantford Symphonies, frequent appearances with the Encore Symphonic Concert Band and three appearances as a soloist at Roy Thomson Hall in Toronto.        
 
For the past 20 years she has been teaching private voice, working with students of all ages and levels.
